• Analyze construction blueprints to determine quantities and costs of materials and fixtures and required labor • Work with customers to receive contracts • Help implement measures to increase company effectiveness and efficiency • Create or revise estimates, proposals, and change orders for current and prospective jobs • Work with business development and project management to build accurate proposals covering labor, time, and materials • Identify project cost trends to assist management with cost reduction and process improvements • Manage project handoff between estimating and project management after award • Request material and equipment quotes from vendors and equipment suppliers • Review supplier quotes for adherence to requests and accuracy • Perform takeoffs for assigned projects and oversee takeoffs for team lead projects • Lead team bids by understanding RFP and bid documents and delegating tasks based on experience and ability • Lead design/build bids and identify and quantify project unknowns or ambiguities • Train new estimators in estimating department strategies and processes • Conduct weekly outreach and follow-up on pending bids • Balance individual and team responsibilities while prioritizing overall bid success
• Minimum (8) years of electrical industry estimating experience • Experience in large commercial, industrial, or water treatment is preferred • Working knowledge of electrical estimating software such as Accubid • An associates or bachelor’s degree in related field or an Electrical Journeyman’s License • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products and Bluebeam, with the ability to learn new software quickly • Working knowledge of the National Electric Code and electrical theory • Proficient skills in reading construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and data sheets • Experience in layout of electrical equipment and systems, including design/build concepts such as electrical one-lines and feeder/branch circuit analysis • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication • Problem-solving capabilities to identify and resolve problems in an analytical and timely manner • Effective time management, planning, organization, and ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously • Ability to travel scheduled or unscheduled on a limited basis • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds • Employment contingent upon successful completion of background investigation and drug screening • InPwr Inc. is not currently hiring individuals who now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status
