đź“‹ Description

• Design, build, and ship AI systems against the approved Iovance AI roadmap • Own architecture, retrieval pipelines, prompts, evaluation, integrations, and deployment for assigned use cases • Implement production-grade RAG systems on AWS infrastructure using S3, Redshift, and Bedrock • Build and operate evaluation harnesses with held-out test sets, accuracy and grounding metrics, hallucination detection, adversarial inputs, and regression testing • Design integrations between AI systems and enterprise systems using MCP, APIs, and event-driven patterns • Maintain LLM security controls, including guardrails, prompt-injection and jailbreak defenses, sensitive-data redaction, content moderation, and abuse monitoring • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain AI agents for regulated life-sciences use cases • Establish version control, CI/CD, environment separation, and reproducible-build practices • Evaluate AI vendors, tools, and foundation models and provide build-versus-buy recommendations • Implement audit logging, access management, change control, model registry, performance monitoring, and incident detection • Author architecture diagrams, data-flow diagrams, evaluation reports, runbooks, and validation deliverables • Contribute to the Iovance AI Validation Playbook • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical recommendations on AI tooling, models, and engineering practices

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive software and/or AI/ML engineering experience, with the most recent 1+ years dedicated primarily to LLM-based application development • Demonstrated track record of shipping production AI systems that real users depend on • Deep, hands-on production experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), including chunking strategies, embedding models, vector stores, retrieval and reranking, and grounding • Working production experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or equivalent agent/tool integration patterns • Practical working experience across multiple frontier model families, such as Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT, Google Gemini, and leading open-weight models • Strong production Python skills and ideally one other programming language • Experience with modern Agile delivery, Git, CI/CD, containerization, cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and MLOps tooling and practices • Working production experience with AWS S3, Redshift, Bedrock, and IAM is strongly preferred • Working knowledge of enterprise search and retrieval services such as OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or equivalent, including hybrid vector and lexical/BM25 retrieval patterns • Ability to remain stationary standing or sitting for prolonged periods • Ability to move inside an office and occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force • Visual acuity for data analysis, computer-screen viewing, and extensive reading • Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements • Ability to communicate with others to exchange information • Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analysis, and discretion • Ability to handle work-related stress, multiple priorities, and deadlines
