📋 Description

• Perform finite element and classical stress analysis of structures and mechanisms • Create stress analysis models of mechanisms and incorporate them into existing system finite element models • Modify existing finite element models to evaluate mechanisms • Support stress analysis assessments to guide design maturation of structures and mechanisms • Perform preliminary and final analyses, part sizing, fatigue/fracture assessment, drawing coordination and sign-off, test support and correlation, analyses presentations, and documentation for deliverable stress and fracture reports • Derive and apply load cases and develop resulting stress analysis • Link models and execute analysis on subsystem- and system-level elements • Perform iterative analysis with design teams to achieve high-performance, low-mass designs • Perform mass opportunity assessments and support long-lead hardware implementation • Ensure models meet modeling standards • Support ongoing activities for a Federal Government customer

🎯 Requirements

• 9+ years of relevant stress analysis experience • Bachelor's Degree • Experience performing stress analysis on spacecrafts • Experience with NASTRAN/FEMAP • US Citizenship is required • Ability to meet the stated physical demands, with or without reasonable accommodation • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds • Ability to communicate through speech with clients and the public • Required vision abilities include close, distance, depth perception, and distinguishing colors • Manual and finger dexterity • Tolerance for various levels of mental stress
