• Review and assess passage-based test questions for clarity, accuracy, and test-readiness • Make CARS Passage amendments • Edit existing passage reviews and solutions written by other contributors • Provide substantive feedback on question structure, stem clarity, and distractor quality • Ensure consistency with test format standards and Jack Westin quality guidelines • Identify gaps in question coverage and suggest improvements • Rewrite and refine solutions for clarity and pedagogical effectiveness • Develop comprehensive explanations for correct answers and distractors • Create background context and explanatory material for challenging passages • Ensure reasoning is transparent and accessible to test-takers • Align solutions with established Jack Westin CARS Section pedagogy and learning objectives • Maintain consistency in explanation depth, vocabulary level, and pedagogical approach • Self-evaluate work against established quality standards before submission • Participate in revision rounds to achieve quality benchmarks • Identify patterns in quality issues and suggest systemic improvements • Collaborate with content leads and other specialists to maintain content consistency • Communicate clearly about editorial decisions and quality concerns • Participate in feedback cycles and implement revisions efficiently • Support the development of style guides and quality standards • Maintain organized documentation of work completed
• Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Communications, or related field • Deep expertise in LSAT reading comprehension and logical reasoning (preferred) • Strong knowledge of literary analysis, critical reading, and test-taking strategies • Familiarity with SAT, ACT, GRE, or other standardized exams involving reading comprehension (preferred) • Understanding of item writing and assessment design principles • 3+ years of experience in standardized test preparation or educational content development • Proven track record in the testing industry (SAT, ACT, MCAT, LSAT, GRE) • Experience writing or editing test questions and solutions for standardized exams • Background in higher education test preparation or tutoring • Demonstrated ability to assess and improve written content for clarity and pedagogy • Experience working with multiple standardized exam formats • Expert-level writing and editing skills with attention to precision and clarity • Deep understanding of test-taking strategy and how students learn test material • Ability to write clear, pedagogically sound explanations of complex concepts • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills • Attention to detail and consistency in formatting and style • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines • Collaborative mindset with openness to feedback and revision • Proficiency with Google Docs, content management systems, or similar tools • Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of background, reference, employment history, education, and credential verification, as applicable and permitted by law
• $60 per passage review and solution rewriting (3-5 questions included) • $20 per passage review of another writer's edits • Payment on the 10th and 26th of each month for work completed and accepted within 6 business days prior • Project-based, flexible commitment • Work remotely with flexible scheduling
