📋 Description

• Monitor official sources, including Hebrew-language media, wire services, and other news outlets, for breaking developments • Write and publish clear, accurate breaking news updates for the JNS live ticker • Maintain a steady flow of news updates throughout each shift • Increase output significantly during major breaking news events • Exercise editorial judgment to determine what constitutes breaking news and prioritize stories • Verify information before publication and adhere to JNS sourcing and attribution standards • Coordinate with the Shift Editor and Breaking News Desk Lead throughout each shift • Ensure seamless handoffs during breaks and shift changes • Monitor social media and other emerging sources while following verification protocols • Contribute to improvements in workflow, monitoring practices, and newsroom efficiency

🎯 Requirements

• Previous newsroom or journalism experience, preferably in breaking news • Exceptional news judgment and ability to identify stories quickly • Excellent English writing and editing skills • Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Familiarity with Israeli current affairs and the regional news landscape • Ability to read Hebrew is strongly preferred • Comfortable working collaboratively in a remote newsroom using Slack and other digital tools • Ability to monitor official sources, including Hebrew-language media, wire services, and other news outlets • Ability to verify information and follow sourcing and attribution standards
