📋 Description

• Act as a liaison between clinical and coding functions • Educate physicians, medical staff, and clinical professionals on documentation and Revenue Management processes • Interact daily with physicians and clinical professionals regarding documentation clarification and optimization • Analyze clinical information and documentation to support the System Case Mix Index • Review inpatient medical records within 24–48 hours of admission • Assign principal and secondary diagnoses, procedures, working DRG assignment, severity of illness, and risk of mortality • Conduct subsequent record reviews every three days through discharge • Formulate queries for missing, conflicting, or unclear documentation • Provide ongoing education on clinical documentation improvement and accurate patient records • Collaborate with nursing staff, nutrition, pharmacists, physicians, and inpatient coding professionals • Meet established productivity targets for record review • Identify strategies for sustained work process changes • Analyze and trend statistical data and identify improvement opportunities • Promote accurate principal diagnosis, procedures, supporting documentation, working and final DRG, severity of illness, and risk of mortality • Serve as a resource for interdisciplinary collaboration and coordination of patient care

🎯 Requirements

• At least three (3) years of RN work experience • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required) • Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania • BSN/Bachelor's Degree-Nursing strongly preferred • Understanding of Anatomy and Physiology • Knowledge of clinical documentation, medical records, diagnoses, procedures, treatment modalities, and DRG assignment • Communication, Medical Records Systems, and Multitasking skills • Ability to work days and 40 scheduled hours weekly
