📋 Description

• Contact potential clients whose cases the firm cannot accept within 24–48 hours • Clearly and compassionately communicate case decline decisions • De-escalate upset, frustrated, or distressed callers • Prevent escalation into negative reviews, complaints, or reputational risk • Guide callers toward alternative resources, agencies, legal aid, or community support when appropriate • Take over emotionally complex conversations escalated by intake specialists • Protect client dignity and firm interests during escalations • Document all interactions thoroughly in the CRM or intake system • Identify trends in declined cases and client concerns • Provide monthly insights, reports, and recommendations to improve intake processes • Give feedback to intake and legal teams • Help improve intake processes, scripts, and client communication strategies • Flag potential legal or reputational risks to leadership

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required • Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW), Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Communication, or a related behavioral health or human services field strongly preferred • Prior experience in high-volume, counseling-based roles • Experience in crisis intervention or crisis hotline work • Experience in client advocacy or patient advocacy • Experience in legal intake or client services • Customer service experience in high-stakes, emotionally charged environments • Exceptional empathy and ability to maintain professional boundaries • Advanced emotional intelligence and ability to adapt communication style in real time • Expert de-escalation skills, including active listening, validation, reframing, and solution-focus • Ability to explain complex or disappointing information clearly, simply, and respectfully • Ability to adapt language and tone to diverse audiences • Ability to set boundaries respectfully • Ability to recognize legal, ethical, or safety red flags • Ability to balance empathy with firm policies and legal requirements • Strong documentation discipline and attention to detail
