⢠Own the strategy, design, delivery, and evaluation of at least two GCP programs ⢠Experiment with workshop formats and purposes, and discontinue programs that do not work ⢠Develop outreach and marketing strategies ⢠Build strong applicant pools and select participants ⢠Build relationships across the field and recruit researchers, policymakers, funders, operators, and other experts as guests ⢠Design workshop structures, sessions, content, and participant experiences ⢠Lead three-day residential workshops in person ⢠Give talks, introduce guests, advise participants, manage the on-site team, and ensure workshops run effectively ⢠Direct GCP team members, interns, and volunteers on assigned programs ⢠Likely line-manage one GCP team member and interns as the team grows ⢠Collect structured feedback and track participant outcomes ⢠Use evidence to improve, scale, or discontinue programs ⢠Contribute to team-wide strategy ⢠Build operational structures and automation to support scaling ⢠Help design and launch the internship program ⢠Report to Sam Glendenning, who leads the Global Challenges Project
⢠Experience organizing and delivering workshops, conferences, retreats, or similar events ⢠Strong project delivery experience in complex in-person settings can substitute ⢠Deep concern for the development of advanced AI and biotechnology ⢠Belief that workshops can effectively help talented people enter AI safety and biosecurity ⢠Energy to engage with participants and guests throughout three-day residential events ⢠Ability to keep events running smoothly ⢠Comfort managing a small team ⢠Prior experience managing operational or programmatic teams is a strong plus ⢠High agency and ability to spot problems, adapt, and act independently ⢠Highly organized, with systems for managing multiple programs, workstreams, teams, and deadlines ⢠Familiarity with the AI safety ecosystem, including major organizations and people ⢠Understanding of how the AI safety ecosystem fits together ⢠Familiarity with biosecurity or US policy is a plus ⢠Availability for travel roughly 8 to 12 times per year, typically 3 to 6 days per trip ⢠Ability to work remotely with a preference for candidates within five hours of UK time ⢠Work authorization and visa sponsorship evaluated for the UK or US on a case-by-case basis
