• Design Kairos Labs, an incubator for new AI safety projects and organizations • Decide the types of organizations supported, cohort versus rolling structure, program duration, support model, and independence criteria • Build the application and selection process • Recruit the first projects • Establish program operations • Advise Kairos Labs founders on strategy, fundraising, and hiring • Ensure incubated projects’ operational needs are met • Set Kairos Labs’ strategic direction and growth plans • Determine ecosystem needs and how the program relates to Kairos’ other programs • Contribute to organization-wide strategy, new programs, and cross-cutting work
• Experience founding an organization or running a comparable incubator, accelerator, fellowship, or fiscal-sponsorship program • Firsthand understanding of early-stage organizational needs • Clear views on which AI safety organizations are worth starting and which ecosystem gaps matter most • Strong judgment about projects and people • Ability to build a vision from scratch and execute autonomously • Deep commitment to making advanced AI go well • Comfort handling legal, financial, and compliance work with expert support • Ability or preference to attend meetings in the ET time zone • Ability to travel 3–6 times a year, predominantly in the US • Visa sponsorship may be possible depending on circumstances, but is not guaranteed
