📋 Description

• Responsible for the design and modeling of mechanical components to interface with optical elements such as lenses, mirrors, diffractive elements and filters • Design and model the mechanical means to mount and position optical elements in an optical system • Develop detailed drawings of optical elements and overall optical system as well as fabrication and assembly drawings for mechanical hardware and optical assemblies

🎯 Requirements

• T/SCI Secret Clearance • Education: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience or equivalent with total 7+ years of related experience • Specific knowledge related to the mechanical design mounts and modeling of opto-mechanical systems • Proficient in CAD software (Solid Works, NX) • Ability to work all phases of opto-mechanical subsystems from the conceptual design layout, package prototyping, fixture/tooling design • Develop assembly and test procedures and support all levels of optical subsystem integration and tests • Support trade studies and recommend system architecture and design approach • Conduct analysis and evaluation of a design concept to produce realistic assessment of development and manufacturing risks • Work with other engineers, technicians, manufacturing and quality engineers in a team environment. • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and support project level reviews. • Prior experience with NASA or other work related to space flight hardware
