• Handle complex, high-exposure structure, dwelling, and contents property claims from first notice of loss through resolution • Examine and interpret insureds’ policies, forms in force, and other records to determine coverage and company liability • Draft, approve, and adjust damage and loss estimates using Xactimate and Xactanalysis • Investigate claims through recorded statements, consultations with police and fire departments, property damage inspections, and documentation review • Write diary notes, manage and collaborate with vendors on field assignments, set and save contacts, and issue payments • Apply knowledge of multiple state statutes, insurance codes of ethics, rules, regulations, and guidelines • Negotiate with attorneys and public adjusters to achieve fair and equitable settlements • Independently manage a full caseload across multiple states while meeting timeliness and quality benchmarks • Produce well-documented files, sound coverage decisions, reservation of rights and denial letters where applicable, and effective negotiation outcomes • Guide and support policyholders through challenging situations • Mentor less experienced claims team members and support consistent claims-handling practices
• 3+ years of first-party property claims adjusting experience directly with a carrier • Expertise handling files with exposure up to $100,000 • Deep knowledge of policy interpretation and claims processes • Hands-on experience managing attorney- and public adjuster-represented claims preferred • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills • Ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate effectively • Experience drafting complex reservation of rights letters, coverage denial letters, and release letters • Ability to conduct thorough and effective recorded statements • Ability to recognize potential fraud indicators and identify subrogation opportunities • Skilled in Xactimate/Xactanalysis • Strong technical acumen with Excel, Snapsheet, Slack, and CRM systems • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to guide policyholders with empathy and professionalism • Ability to mentor less experienced claims team members • Familiarity with the litigation process, including prior deposition and/or mediation experience preferred • Working knowledge of insurance laws, good faith practices, timelines, and regulatory requirements across multiple states • Valid Adjuster's License in the current state of residence • Ability to live and work full-time in one of the listed eligible states • Authorization to work for any employer in the United States • Availability for required overtime and weekend shifts during catastrophic events
