📋 Description

• Support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, vendor payments, Ramp, employee expense reimbursements, and corporate credit card reconciliations • Prepare and post monthly journal entries, accruals, and recurring accounting entries • Prepare cash and bank tie-outs and maintain balance sheet reconciliations • Own assigned month-end close activities and support the broader closing process under the Controller’s direction • Partner with the Controller and external accountants to transition financial close activities in-house in accordance with U.S. GAAP • Maintain accounting schedules, close documentation, and records for financial reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness • Prepare inventory reconciliations and related accounting entries • Prepare payroll reconciliations and related journal entries • Resolve accounting and tax-related issues with external accountants, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders • Track recurring accounting and close deadlines • Prepare and review sales tax reconciliations and support related filings • Support business and employee-related tax and compliance filings • Respond to accounting and payment-related questions • Identify discrepancies, research issues, and drive items through resolution • Develop and maintain accounting and financial close workflow documentation • Improve and automate accounting processes, internal controls, documentation, and operational efficiency using AI and automation tools • Partner with the Controller and FP&A Analyst on accurate actuals and ad hoc accounting and finance projects

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 2–4 years of accounting experience, ideally including meaningful month-end close experience within a growing business or public accounting environment • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and U.S. GAAP • Hands-on experience with journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, and month-end close processes • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to independently manage recurring deadlines and multiple priorities • Comfortable using AI and automation tools to improve accounting workflows and efficiency • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and experience with QuickBooks or a similar accounting system • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly with financial and non-financial stakeholders, including close partnership with FP&A • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced startup environment • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. • Employment visa sponsorship is not available • Preferred: experience with payroll accounting, inventory accounting, audit or public accounting, QuickBooks, Ramp and/or Brex, startup/e-commerce/healthcare/pharmacy environments, or transitioning outsourced accounting activities in-house • CPA or CPA-track is a plus
