📋 Description

• Support administration, maintenance, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle database environments for a federal civilian customer • Perform day-to-day administration, including installation, configuration, and patching • Monitor database health, performance, and job scheduling, escalating issues to senior DBAs as needed • Execute routine backup and recovery procedures and support periodic disaster recovery testing • Support database user access requests, role management, and security auditing in accordance with agency policy • Assist with data migration tasks for cloud modernization and data center consolidation efforts • Write and optimize basic to intermediate SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts • Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, schedules, and standard operating procedures • Respond to database-related incident tickets in ServiceNow and participate in root cause analysis • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours database support as needed • Support Koniag IT Systems and its federal government customer

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience • Working knowledge of database backup, recovery, and basic performance tuning concepts • Proficiency writing SQL queries and troubleshooting routine database issues • Familiarity with database security and access control practices • Understanding of ITSM ticketing and change management processes • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders • Ability to obtain public trust clearance • Experience working in a federal government IT environment desired • Knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, or NIST desired • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Database certification, or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner desired • Exposure to AWS RDS or cloud-hosted database environments desired • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms desired
