📋 Description

• Perform FISH analysis, including analysis and imaging of digitized images • Conduct cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images • Review cytogenetic cases via computerized images and documents • Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis • Summarize test results using ISCN nomenclature • Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot equipment, software, and applications • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving • Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care • Report problems to the general supervisor in a timely manner • Collaborate with the general supervisor on protocol and policy development and review • Provide technical feedback to senior technologists • Comply with company policies and procedures • Maintain a safe work environment • Perform primarily onscreen FISH analysis with occasional chromosome work using Metasystems (Neon) and Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI) digital platforms • Work remotely in a fast-paced, multi-site environment while managing competing priorities

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology • ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG) • At least 1 year of experience in FISH and chromosomes for oncology cytogenetics • Preferred: at least 2 years of experience analyzing cytogenetic metaphase spreads via computerized images • Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits meeting CLIA standards may satisfy education requirements in lieu of the listed education • Proficiency with computers • Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus • Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test • Ability to work independently and within a team environment • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts based on business needs • Dedicated private home office room meeting HIPAA compliance requirements • Wired internet with a minimum speed of 100 Mb/sec • Ability to work remotely effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment while managing competing priorities • Tuesday–Saturday availability, 8:00 am–4:30 pm
