📋 Description

• Perform analysis of chromosomes, including imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens • Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis • Summarize test results using ISCN nomenclature • Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results • Perform and evaluate troubleshooting • Document corrective actions as needed • Comply with company policies and procedures • Focus primarily on oncology chromosomes using Applied Spectral Imaging software • May perform onscreen FISH analysis using Metasystems Neon • Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with some flexibility

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology • 3 years of experience working in a Cytogenetics clinical laboratory • 2 years of experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images • 2 years of experience in Oncology cytogenetics • Computer skills, including Internet, email, text messaging, chat applications, and Microsoft Office • Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills • Active listening and ability to provide balanced feedback • Strong patient focus • Ability to manage time, conflicting priorities, stress, and professional development • Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision • ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG) preferred • 1 year or more of FISH Oncology Cytogenetics experience preferred • Dedicated, non-shared home office meeting HIPAA compliance • Wired internet with a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec • Ability to work remotely effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment while juggling competing priorities and demands
