• Counsel students and families on financial aid award packages, eligibility, funding, payment options, and application requirements • Review and verify student eligibility for federal, state, institutional, scholarship, and grant aid programs • Calculate funding and explain total financial aid awards, including award recalculations based on enrollment • Manage incoming application files and coordinate documentation submissions and follow-up activities • Conduct individual interviews, information sessions, presentations, and virtual FAFSA events • Research, verify, analyze, and assess student financial histories, including defaulted loans and repayment obligations • Explain Title IV refunds and repayments, including Department of Education and NSLDS notifications • Process FAFSA and other required documents and review financial aid applications for accuracy • Assist with outreach for collection of past-due accounts • Assist veterans and dependents with certificates of eligibility and other documentation for benefits • Process cash, check, credit card, and debit card payment transactions • Coordinate with College departments and satellite locations to promote communication about programs and services • Participate in Student Financial Services meetings, College events, and other activities • Maintain current knowledge of federal and state regulations • Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor's Degree required; minimum of 2 years of financial aid knowledge preferred • Demonstrated previous experience with the financial aid process in higher education • Experience with financial aid delivery systems highly desirable, especially Starfish, Salesforce, Jenzabar, and PowerFaids • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers • Ability to provide an extremely high level of customer service • Ability to counsel impartially and non-judgmentally while maintaining confidentiality • Must be in good standing with Title IV loans to obtain access to NSLDS • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities • Organized with extreme attention to detail • Professionalism and ability to follow through and meet deadlines • Flexibility and ability to work as a team player • Ability to represent the College publicly and present to large audiences • Availability to work some evenings and weekends as needed • Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Ability to find solutions within Financial Aid guidelines
