📋 Description

• Take high-level direction and drive results across the company • Shape the roadmap with the CTO and engineering leadership • Conduct deep dives into competitors, users, and adjacent technology • Talk to users regularly and turn insights into product changes • Drive cross-team decisions on priorities across engineering, field, and support • Work directly with engineering as a technically respected peer • Help define and execute product at LanceDB • Work with teams building real AI systems in production • Clarify what engineering builds and help focus the LanceDB platform on its ideal customer profile • Shape the AI-native data layer category and take on larger product scope over time

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years as a software engineer or in a highly technical product role • Shipped and iterated on products end-to-end • Experience working on large-scale data platforms, such as databases, data infrastructure, or ML/AI systems • Understanding of the AI researcher persona, including their goals, pain points, and satisfaction drivers • Regular engagement with users through interviews, support, design partners, or community • Demonstrated ownership of ambiguous projects with minimal guidance • Experience influencing or driving roadmap and prioritization decisions • Strong written and verbal communication skills to drive alignment across teams • Comfortable using data, metrics, experiments, and usage information to guide decisions • Experience contributing to or working with open source communities • Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer • Located in the United States or Canada
