📋 Description

• Handle on-demand telephone interpreting calls between Mien and English speakers • Render accurate meanings according to established interpretation protocols without omissions or additions • Interpret across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, law enforcement, court, and 911 industries • Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and polite expressions • Maintain professional demeanor, neutrality, and objectivity during sessions • Remain calm during difficult or emergency calls, including 911 calls • Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours • Follow client instructions and interpretation protocols • Use appropriate industry terminology and understand common procedures • Respond promptly to interpreting sessions and provide friendly, professional service • Work from a quiet and secure home office • Adapt to high call volumes, extended calls, and emotionally stressful sessions

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in Mien and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics • Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences • Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills • Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive subjects • Education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation or interpretation preferred • Ability to adapt to LLS technology enhancements • Must be at least 18 years of age • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to read and write the requested languages highly preferred • Dedicated personal device for business purposes • Desktop/laptop computer with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS, or acceptable tablet/smartphone • High-speed internet connection with minimum 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, ping no more than 300 ms, and jitter no more than 30 ms • Quiet space free from background noise or distraction • Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse and remain stationary in front of a computer • Ability to operate company-provided software and systems • Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write • Ability to lift up to 26 lbs. • Post-offer pre-employment background check and/or drug screen may be required based on location
