📋 Description

• Handle on-demand phone interpreting sessions between Mirpuri and English speakers • Render the meaning of conversations accurately according to established interpretation protocols • Serve clients across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, law enforcement, courts, and 911 • Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions • Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions • Remain calm during incoherent, upset, emotional, stressful, or emergency calls • Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours • Follow client instructions and protocols while avoiding unauthorized interaction with the limited-English-speaking person • Understand terminology and procedures across multiple industries • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment • Work from a quiet, secure home office • Provide company-standard service during extended calls and periods of high call volume

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in Mirpuri and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics • Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences • Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills • Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive conversations • Education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation or interpretation preferred • Ability to adapt to LLS technology enhancements • Must be at least 18 years of age • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Must have US work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to read and write the requested languages highly preferred • Dedicated personal device for business purposes • Desktop/laptop with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS; tablets and smartphones accepted • No Kaspersky products or Huawei hardware • High-speed internet: at least 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, ping no more than 300 ms, jitter no more than 30 ms • Quiet space free from background noise or distraction • Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse and remain stationary in front of a computer most of the workday • Ability to operate company-provided software and systems • Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write • Ability to lift up to 26 lbs. • May be required to complete a post-offer pre-employment background check and/or drug screen
