Long Duration Energy Storage Council (LDES Council) is a global organization committed to advancing decarbonization by promoting the deployment of long duration energy storage (LDES) solutions. The Council collaborates with various stakeholders, including members, partners, and key decision makers, to provide guidance and insights on LDES technologies, which encompass mechanical, thermal, electrochemical, and chemical storage methods. By driving policy and market interventions, the LDES Council aims to unlock the full potential of LDES, facilitating the transition towards a clean, reliable, and sustainable energy future.

📋 Description

• Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify emerging research opportunities and analytical needs. • Develop research concepts and briefs together with analysts and data scientists. • Translate complex technical findings into accurate, accessible and compelling narratives. • Identify the strongest findings, comparisons and policy-relevant insights from emerging analysis. • Lead the preparation of analytical briefs, reports, commentaries, media notes, reactive statements and other research outputs. • Produce or coordinate clear charts, graphics and other visual materials that strengthen the communication of findings. • Stay abreast of developments in energy, climate and air quality policy and contribute to analytical projects. • Ensure outputs support CREA's strategic objectives while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, credibility and clarity. • Work with partner organisations to incorporate technical, policy and regional expertise and ensure outputs reflect local contexts rather than one-size-fits-all narratives.

🎯 Requirements

• At least 3–5 years of experience in research, policy analysis, journalism, consulting, or another analytical environment. • Higher education or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field, such as energy, environmental science, economics or a related discipline. • Excellent writing and editing skills in English, with the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly and accurately for different audiences. • Strong analytical skills and the ability to engage critically with quantitative evidence, data visualizations and technical reports; • Knowledge of energy markets, electricity systems, fossil fuels, clean energy or air quality and willingness to expand the knowledge domain. • Experience engaging with media, policymakers, civil society organisations or international institutions. • Experience producing high-quality reports, policy briefs, articles, or other analytical publications.
