📋 Description

• Serve as Engineer of Record for microgrid electrical designs, owning system-level integration across PV, BESS, generation, and distribution assets • Develop detailed electrical design deliverables, including one-line/three-line diagrams, equipment specifications, protection and coordination studies, and interconnection designs • Integrate MV/LV distribution design with generation and storage assets while ensuring compliance with utility interconnection requirements and applicable codes/standards • Coordinate protection scheme design and controls/SCADA interface requirements across vendors and disciplines • Lead technical review of EPC and OEM deliverables for compliance with client standards and project performance requirements • Interface with clients, EPCs, and equipment vendors to resolve design issues and ensure constructability • Support permitting, interconnection applications, and utility coordination • Participate in or lead multidisciplinary design reviews for microgrid and DER projects

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program, with a focus on power systems • 4–8 years of experience in detailed electrical design and system integration for microgrid, distribution, generation, or storage projects • Demonstrated experience designing and integrating multiple DER asset types (PV, BESS, generators) into a single electrical system • Experience with MV/LV distribution system design, protection coordination, and interconnection design • Working knowledge of controls/SCADA interface requirements as they relate to electrical system design • PE license or ability to obtain PE licensure preferred • Experience with VRFB, lithium-ion, or other BESS technologies at the electrical design level preferred • Familiarity with reciprocating engine/turbine generator integration preferred • Prior EOR role on one or more completed microgrid or DER projects preferred • Experience with utility interconnection standards and processes preferred
