📋 Description

• Perform design reviews of civil/structural design components supporting bid/construction packages for substation projects • Function as a senior engineer leading projects • Perform design reviews and develop junior staff members • Perform and review substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, concrete and masonry control shelters, and firewalls • Perform design and review for structures and foundations to industry codes and standards under seismic loading conditions • Visit client substation facilities • Travel occasionally for client meetings and industry-related events • Comply with quality control and safe work practices • Maintain compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations • Manage and work on projects for multiple clients concurrently • Work as a senior member of a design team comprising engineers, designers, and drafting technicians • Build and maintain strong client relationships while managing expectations

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience, or Masters (MS) with 5+ years of relevant experience • PE License in California, required • Structural Engineer (SE) License in any state is preferred • Proven client management and business communication experience, required • Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software, required • Experience with RISA 3D or/and STAAD.Pro or/and SAP2000, SAG10, FAD or/and LPile software, required • Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required • Strong familiarity with current industry standards, design codes, and design guides (e.g., ASCE, AISC, ACI, IBC), required • Strong analytical and technical writing skills • Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff • Experience within the electric utility industry is strongly preferred • Prior engineering work experience in California is strongly preferred
