📋 Description

• Provide face-to-face counseling to military Service Members and their families, including individual, couples, family, and children’s counseling • Provide counseling, consultation, outreach, coaching, guidance, and support to eligible Service Members, family members, children, youth, parents, staff, and faculty • Deliver preventative, solution-focused counseling addressing relationships, stress management, parenting, child behavioral issues, relocations, deployments, financial concerns, and job stress • Recommend appropriate referrals and handoffs to military and community resources based on differential clinical skills • Offer presentations addressing social skills development and social emotional learning • Build rapport with Service Members, spouses, and children by attending installation and community events • Support military families and children with transitions, recurring moves, separations, deployments, and reunification • Observe, participate, and engage in activities with children and youth • Model behavior management techniques for staff and parents • Serve as a trained, assignment-ready Mission Ready Reserve counselor when called upon

🎯 Requirements

• A master’s degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD) • Licensure to practice at the independent practice level (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist) in a state or territory of the United States • Must be a U.S. citizen • Must be able to pass a basic background check for employment • Must be able to pass a National /Child National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance, commonly called a Public Trust clearance • SOCOM positions require at least a Secret (T3) clearance • Ability to provide counseling support to adults or minors • Ability to work flexible, PRN-type, Mission Ready Reserve assignments • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor military installation, school, and CDC environments • Ability to traverse uneven grassy, gravel, and/or dirt areas, ascend/descend stairs, and work in varying weather • Ability to sit on the floor to interact with children for up to 2 hours at a time
