📋 Description

• Own product surfaces end-to-end across frontend, backend, data, and integrations • Build the application layer wrapping Lilly’s AI models into reliable workflows for biotech customers • Drive features from ambiguous requirements through tradeoff analysis and delivery • Stay hands-on in the codebase • Contribute to code reviews, testing, release processes, and on-call • Mentor engineers and raise the team’s engineering standards • Partner with product management and design on features • Help interview engineers as the team grows • Identify and address unowned problems • Navigate enterprise infrastructure, security, and compliance requirements • Work with Lilly IT and internal platform teams • Participate in customer conversations when technically useful • Collaborate with a Staff Software Engineer, Engineering Manager, product, design, and data science • Report to the TuneLab Engineering Manager

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field • 5+ years of software engineering experience • Track record of shipping software used and relied on by real customers • Experience as a senior engineer on a product team, ideally a small one • Strong full-stack fundamentals • API design and integration experience • Frontend development experience • Cloud experience and familiarity with modern deployment practices • Familiarity with AI/ML integration • Hands-on experience building LLM-powered features • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code • Experience simplifying complex backend capabilities into usable product experiences • Experience working in small teams with undefined roadmaps • Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis • Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role • Life sciences, pharma, or health tech experience preferred • B2B SaaS product experience preferred • Startup or early internal-startup experience preferred
