📋 Description

• Manage and maintain database abstraction of clinical data from multiple sources • Abstract and submit all required data elements into the Collector system as required by PTSF • Communicate information to the Trauma Team regarding trauma audit filters or identified care issues • Identify all trauma patients admitted to LVH and encountered by the trauma service • Flag trauma patients in the EPIC system • Compile data following NTDS and NTRACS data requirement guidelines • Complete abstracts of all data from admission to discharge on assigned charts • Collect patient records before and after discharge for review, analysis, and diagnosis entry into the trauma registry database

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED • 1 year in a health care-related field, or 1 year abstracting clinical information into a database, or 1 year billing or coding certificate or degree, in progress or complete • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and pathophysiology • Proficient in Windows computers and data entry • Proficient in EPIC • Preferred: Knowledge of Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation (PTSF) • Preferred: Experience with ICD-10 Coding • Preferred: Experience in abstracting, billing and/or coding • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. • Frequent sitting/standing and keyboard use • Patient care providers may be required to kneel, bend, squat, and perform CPR
