📋 Description

• Train and shadow for approximately the first month • Take one workflow end to end alongside a Makai lead before working more independently • Interview client Subject Matter Experts and learn how work is currently performed • Read source documents and map the systems involved • Identify workflows worth automating • Propose automation opportunities and write specifications with client teams • Build AI-agent prototypes on Makai's platform with support from Makai engineers • Test prototypes with client practitioners • Run rollouts and measure productivity and ROI • Determine which approaches will not work and prioritize effort • Progress toward AI engineering, product and implementation, or engagement leadership tracks

🎯 Requirements

• Early-career candidates, seniors, recent graduates, or candidates with comparable early-career experience • Demonstrated ownership inside and outside the classroom • Experience building a product, tool, model, startup, research system, or internal process; or leading a club, team, lab effort, athletic group, event, or high-pressure project; or turning a messy internship project into something people used • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, SQL, or another programming/data-analysis language • Knowledge of APIs, workflow automation, backend services, internal tools, or scripting • Knowledge of LLMs, retrieval, agents, structured outputs, prompt design, or AI evaluation • Experience with data analysis, spreadsheets, dashboards, process mining, or financial/operating models • Experience with product specs, user stories, QA testing, Jira, Azure DevOps, or agile delivery • Research, internship, startup, team leadership, athletics, or other high-accountability work • Eastern Time overlap preferred • Must be legally authorized to work in the country in which the job is located • No visa sponsorship available
