• Serve as a messenger and conveyor of faith, mission, and purpose. • Interact with companies, employees, and the community while representing Christian ministry values. • Make regular, usually weekly, visits to company worksites to build relationships with employees. • Visit employees and immediate family members in hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, and other locations where care can be provided. • Provide confidential pastoral discussions regarding family matters, divorce, serious illness, aging parents, death and grief, parenting, financial stress, and other personal issues. • Provide referrals and coordinate specialized assistance for employees and family members. • Assist with or attend funerals and provide follow-up grief support. • Make jail visits when needed. • Deliver death and serious-injury notifications and support affected families and employees. • Provide post-termination care to laid-off or terminated employees. • Facilitate spiritual enrichment activities when appropriate. • Provide literature and other resources for life issues. • Represent client companies in ministry-related situations such as illness, accidents, traumatic events, and funerals. • Participate in new employee orientation and explain the Employee Care Service and Chaplain Team role. • Perform other duties requested by company executive leadership within the Letter of Agreement and with EDO permission.
• Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary group and in an interfaith setting. • Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values. • Effective listening and interaction skills with clients, employees, and families. • Ability to deliver community presentations. • Ability to deal effectively with family members and staff under stressful circumstances. • High regard for the dignity and worth of clients, employees, and families. • Ability to cope with stressful situations and document accurately according to standards. • Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle and MCHAP Ministry values. • Fundamental understanding of the Holy Bible and its proper application. • Saving faith in Jesus Christ and active participation in a biblically based church. • Professional, diplomatic, patient, and courteous interaction with diverse groups. • Ability to establish and maintain effective cooperative working relationships and provide exceptional customer service. • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions on sensitive, confidential issues. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Emotional stability when coping with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses. • Skill in analyzing information, following up on problems or objectives, identifying solutions, and solving problems. • Ability to interpret position-related policies and procedures and keep others informed. • Computer proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet, email messaging, and web-based software applications. • Ability to learn new technology programs. • Active state driver's license and state-minimum auto insurance in the state(s) where clients are serviced. • Must pass a pre-employment background check. • Bilingual Spanish required.
