• Manage all aspects of sales, marketing, and account management for accounts within the Ohio, West Virginia, and Michigan territory • Grow company market share by managing, maintaining, and expanding the existing distributor base • Provide quality customer service supporting sales and profitability goals • Assist with technical questions and installation needs using superior product knowledge • Develop communication networks and relationships with distributors, engineers, and municipalities • Study existing and potential distributor volume to focus sales efforts • Execute the company pricing strategy to ensure adequate margins and sales returns • Submit weekly reports to management on market conditions • Document customer interactions and opportunity management in assigned software • Troubleshoot product issues in the field and by phone • Liaise between end users, customers, and the company • Inform and train distributor salespeople on current product and marketing information • Participate in trade associations, seminars, trade shows, and presentations • Communicate with the National Sales Manager regarding territory needs, concerns, and resource allocation • Prepare price quotations and bids based on material knowledge and market conditions • Monitor competitors’ pricing, products, delivery schedules, and marketing techniques • Practice and promote The McWane Way principles • Perform other sales and service duties as directed by management • Travel approximately 75% and perform 25% home-office work • Work in a traditional office and periodically in facilities and field environments
• Must live in Ohio, West Virginia, or Michigan assigned territory, or be willing to relocate • Five years’ industrial sales experience required, preferably in the waterworks industry; or completion of McWane Sales Trainee program • Bachelor's degree preferred • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required • Must be self-motivated and self-led • Must be able to negotiate and close deals while maintaining a strong customer service attitude • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean DMV driving record that can be insured • Must be physically and visually able to break down moderate to complex mechanical products and relate product details to customers and factory • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public • Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions • Knowledge of Internet, inventory, manufacturing, order processing, spreadsheet, and word processing software • Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, handle objects, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds • Must submit to a drug screen, physical, and background check if offered employment
