📋 Description

• Lead MDIF’s financial planning and reporting processes • Create annual operating budgets, program grant budgets, and periodic forecasts • Communicate financial results to varied audiences, including MDIF management, funders, and Board of Directors • Work with program and regional staff to develop budgets and forecasts for all programs, grants, departments, and offices globally • Oversee the financial reporting of all departments, regions and grants and ensure that reporting guidelines are met • Maintain restricted and unrestricted grant budget to actual report templates • Monitor and maintain all active grants and related coding • Submit Budget to Actual reports to Chief Program Officer and program directors quarterly • Assist regional offices with fund allocations and ensure accurate percentages • Review and approve coding for contracts and payment requests related to restricted grants • Maintain Grants Receivable schedule and update unrestricted and temporarily restricted net asset schedules monthly • Manage annual grant audits and support annual statutory audits • Contribute to improvements in financial processes, systems, tools, and documentation.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related professional training in grant reporting • At least three years of progressively responsible work experience, preferably in FP&A or grants administration • Excellent financial analysis, written and verbal communication skills in English • Advanced experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required • Experience and proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) or Corporate Performance Management (CPM) tools preferred • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment is essential • Experience in a complex multi-entity, multi-national corporation, or not-for-profit preferred • Ability to work independently and across teams as a global subject matter expert. • Identification with MDIF’s mission and a passion for Freedom of the Press.
