📋 Description

• Own the design, development, validation, and production operation of predictive and risk-adjustment models • Build models behind the outcomes benchmarking product • Set methodological standards and document modeling decisions • Write tested, versioned, reviewed, reproducible production code • Deploy and monitor models in Snowflake with Data Engineering • Estimate the impact of products, programs, and content on patient outcomes using experimental and observational methods • Shape instrumentation needed for impact estimates • Translate ambiguous goals into well-posed problems with options and tradeoffs • Partner with product, engineering, clinical, and customer-facing teams to integrate models into products • Establish practices for evaluation, documentation, monitoring, and responsible healthcare-data use • Lead through influence as a senior individual contributor, without direct people management • Report to the Head of Data & ML

🎯 Requirements

• Track record of models that ran in production, including deployment, monitoring, and retraining • Statistical depth, including reasoning about data generation, model assumptions, uncertainty, and method selection • Strong Python and SQL skills • Disciplined software engineering, including testing, version control, code review, and reproducible pipelines • Snowflake experience strongly preferred • Experience with messy real-world healthcare data • Working knowledge of causal inference and evaluation design • Experience taking a model from an open-ended business goal to a shipped product feature • Judgement under constraints and ability to explain tradeoffs • Clear communication with clinical, product, and leadership audiences • Commitment to trustworthy, ethical use of healthcare data • Curiosity about new methods and tools • A degree in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, economics, or another quantitative discipline, or equivalent capability developed through another professional path • Experience with patient-reported outcome measures, risk adjustment, or outcomes benchmarking is a standout qualification • Experience with EHR, EMR, or claims data is a standout qualification • Experience building recommendation systems and measuring adoption and downstream impact is a standout qualification • Experience evaluating generative AI applications in regulated domains is a standout qualification • Experience with model documentation and validation that has withstood external review is a standout qualification • Experience as the first data science or ML hire is a standout qualification • Must live in one of: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, or Wisconsin
