📋 Description

• Own the design and implementation of end-to-end reconciliations for new and existing products and funds flows • Develop and maintain data transformations, enrichment logic, and matching rules across internal and external systems • Monitor and investigate reconciliation exceptions, lead root-cause analysis, and coordinate durable fixes with Product, Engineering, Finance, and banking partners • Build monitoring, alerting, and reporting for reconciliation risks, trends, and improvement opportunities • Define reconciliation requirements and technical specifications for new products and funds flows • Partner with Accounting on month-end close and audit readiness through reconciliation analyses, summaries, and supporting documentation • Shape and execute the reconciliation control roadmap and lead cross-functional initiatives • Mentor other analysts through hands-on coaching • Account for, reconcile, and investigate edge cases in money movements powering Mercury’s financial products

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of experience working with complex transactional and financial data in fintech or financial services, including reconciliation, settlement, payment operations, and accounting • Working knowledge of banking payment rails and card networks, including ACH, wire transfers, RTP, FedNow, Visa, and Mastercard • Understanding of transaction flows, clearing, settlement, returns, and exception handling • Advanced SQL skills • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining data transformation pipelines, such as dbt or similar • Strong analytical skills and experience investigating and resolving complex financial data discrepancies • Familiarity with enterprise reconciliation or matching tools, such as Blackline or similar platforms • Experience building monitoring or BI dashboards using Omni, Looker, or Tableau • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving alignment across technical and non-technical partners • Experience mentoring or developing other analysts • Experience supporting audits, regulatory reporting, or financial-control testing
