Merit Medical Oncology is a division/specialty of Merit Medical Systems focused on devices and procedural solutions for oncologic interventions. It is part of Merit Medical Systems, a global manufacturer founded in 1987 that designs and markets proprietary disposable medical devices used in interventional, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures across cardiology, radiology, oncology, critical care and endoscopy. Merit Medical Oncology supports hospitals and physicians worldwide with products (e. g. , biopsy, embolotherapy, drainage, and other oncology-related interventional tools), clinician education and training, regulatory and product documentation, and global distribution and customer support.

📋 Description

• Support healthcare compliance and risk management activities in Latin America • Provide general corporate compliance support as needed • Serve as the Compliance business partner and primary point of contact for Merit’s business across Latin America • Partner with stakeholders to prevent, detect, and address potential violations of laws, regulations, industry codes, and company policies • Provide practical, risk-based compliance guidance for business decision-making • Review business activities involving Healthcare Professionals, educational programs, sponsorships, grants, consulting engagements, and other commercial initiatives • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks • Support and oversee third-party due diligence, conflict-of-interest assessments, and red flag management • Coordinate compliance guidance, education, training, and communications • Participate in investigations, monitoring, corrective action plans, and remediation initiatives • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Privacy, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Human Resources, and other stakeholders • Support deployment, implementation, and continuous improvement of compliance policies, procedures, and initiatives • Promote integrity, ethical decision-making, and accountability • Perform other related duties as required

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Management, or a related field • 5+ years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, Risk Management, Finance or related functions • Experience supporting business teams in highly regulated industries such as Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, or Life Sciences is preferred • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and build credibility across multiple levels of the organization • Experience managing investigations, third-party due diligence, conflicts of interest, monitoring activities, or related compliance processes is preferred • Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and perform effectively in a regional environment • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills • Fluency in Spanish and English is required • Portuguese proficiency would be an enhancing factor • Ability to meet physical/environmental demands including lifting up to 50 lbs, writing, sitting, standing, bending, vision, color perception, depth perception, reading, and peripheral vision
