📋 Description

• Own and maintain the data catalog covering vendors, datasets, fields, and calculations • Trace fields and calculated values to their original sources and document defensible lineage • Maintain accurate confidence and status markers and reduce open catalog items • Document vendor data usage and licensing constraints • Write SQL to pull, join, trace, and validate data • Validate calculation engines and derived metrics against inputs and reconcile figures across datasets and products • Investigate discrepancies and identify root causes • Prepare clean, labeled data inputs and extracts for engineering and offshore teams • Partner with the PMO to triage and validate data-related requests • Troubleshoot data issues for the data, algorithm, calculations, and Customer Service teams • Track vendor agreement rights, renewals, gaps, and usage questions • Maintain accurate data holdings records for leadership decisions and audits • Use AI tools to accelerate data mapping, documentation, and repetitive data tasks • Help shape AI-assisted workflows and contribute to the next iteration of the data platform • Keep technical and non-technical documentation current and readable

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years in a hands-on data role — data analyst, data coordinator, data steward, reporting analyst, or similar • Working SQL proficiency; ability to write queries to trace, join, and validate data • Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel or Google Sheets), including comfort with large and messy datasets • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through • Clear written communication; documentation can stand on its own • Self-directed execution in an environment where processes exist but are still being built • Interest in growing into broader data responsibility over time • Fintech, financial services, or media/publishing data background (nice to have) • Familiarity with data catalogs, data lineage, or data governance concepts (nice to have) • Experience using AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, or ChatGPT (nice to have) • Exposure to BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker, or Snowflake (nice to have) • Understanding of financial calculations and market data (nice to have) • Russian language skills (helpful, not required)
