📋 Description

• Investigate, evaluate, estimate and process property claims primarily requiring in-person contact and on-site inspections • Handle personal and commercial property losses involving structure, contents, ALE, scheduled property and business income losses • Address property coverage questions • Handle property limited lawsuits, including attending pre-trials, mediations, arbitrations or trial when required • Inspect and write moderate to large property estimates using estimating guides and estimating software • Assist in risk evaluation for homeowners and commercial businesses • Verify insurance to value, coinsurance penalties, and changes or increased hazards • Assist inside property specialists with diagrams, photographs, in-person statements and property inspections • Follow claims policies and procedures for communication, coverage verification, liability determination, loss investigation, claims valuation, forms, reports, negotiation and settlement • Assist in catastrophe claims handling throughout the company operating territory, including overnight travel or extended stays upon request • Serve on claims and other integrated company teams as assigned • Climb roofs and perform other field-based inspections • Maintain communication with agents, sales representatives, marketing and underwriting personnel • Report to a Manager, Property Claims • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Experience as an Encova Insurance Property Resolution Specialist or its equivalent in the industry • Internal candidates must have achieved an overall performance rating of at least “Meets Expectations” in the last two annual performance reviews • Demonstrated skills and abilities listed in the Property Resolution Specialist job description • Good judgment in making decisions • Good communication skills and excellent people skills • Positive, professional working relationships with associates, peers, agents, sales representatives, underwriters, marketing personnel and the public • Good negotiation skills • Satisfactory setup and monitoring of all claims • Thorough knowledge of claims settlement techniques • Knowledge of Encova’s personal and commercial policy products • Knowledge of current legal decisions affecting claims handling • Knowledge of regional office and company procedures, policies and practices • A college degree or equivalent in insurance or business is required • Must obtain and maintain all applicable adjusters licensing • Must reside in Northeast Ohio • Must be capable of investigating and closing a minimum average of 30 elements per month • Continuing insurance education through IIA and/or CPCU or another accredited insurance education provider is desired
