• Abstract and manage clinical quality data for hospital partners • Categorize, code, summarize, interpret, and mine registry/case information from unstructured patient medical records • Collect and report eligible Trauma cases under state mandates and national accrediting agencies • Submit accurate data to specified registries and measure data repositories • Support ACS Accreditation using NTDB/TQIP quality tools • Perform timely abstraction and apply standards supporting quality patient care • Stay current on federal, state, payer, and other regulatory and publicly reported data requirements • Contribute to data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, business rule documents, and team best practices • Identify process improvement opportunities to streamline tasks and processes • Collaborate with and support the development of CDQS and SCDS team members • Participate in on-the-job learning, continuing education, and CEU opportunities
• AIS 15 Coding Certification required • At least 6 months of experience abstracting in a Trauma Registry at any Trauma Level • Experience working with multiple patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases • Exposure to patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office, including Microsoft Excel • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills • High standards for accuracy and attention to detail • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new systems and technology • Ability to manage time across multiple accounts and shifting timelines and priorities • Responsibility for keeping PHI secure and confidential • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
