• Drive strategic operating priorities focused on inventing, executing, adapting, developing talent, and maintaining company values and standards • Engage in scientific exchange and research support with external scientific leaders and investigators in Pulmonary Hypertension • Provide balanced, factual scientific information about non-product areas, company products, and company data • Facilitate and develop peer-level relationships with scientific leaders and investigators • Support company-sponsored trials and Independent Investigator Study Programs • Identify, establish, and manage collaborative relationships with national, regional, and clinical-practice scientific leaders and investigators • Conduct peer-level scientific discussions and maintain a reliable Medical Affairs contact presence • Engage in proactive non-product discussions on disease states, diagnosis, epidemiology, unmet medical needs, and population health • Integrate scientific knowledge with actionable insights for Research & Development and Human Health strategies • Communicate stakeholder opinions, insights, and feedback on data, clinical trends, and the medical landscape to Medical Affairs headquarters teams • Represent Research & Development at scientific meetings and congresses and contribute to debriefs, insight discussions, and post-congress reports • Act as primary liaison to investigators interested in developing and completing investigator-oriented research • Identify potential investigators for Phase II–IV clinical development programs and support sponsored trials • Provide in-depth scientific support to Health Systems Teams • Maintain in-depth disease and therapeutic-area knowledge through conferences, workshops, and key-journal review • Comply with company policies, applicable laws, regulations, ethical standards, field SOPs, GCP guidelines, and administrative/operational responsibilities • Contribute to an environment of belonging, engagement, and empowerment
• Reside within Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, D.C.; candidates must reside within the defined Mid-Atlantic territory • M.D., Ph.D., Pharm.D. or relevant APP credential in the Pulmonary Hypertension area • Three years in the biotech/pharmaceutical or healthcare environment • Three years of clinical and/or research experience beyond the terminal degree program in Cardiovascular & Pulmonary therapeutic areas, with demonstrated scientific excellence, or five years of Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) experience in relevant therapeutic areas with demonstrated scientific excellence • Principled interpersonal, communication, networking, and presentation skills • Deep therapeutic competency and knowledge of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary/translational science trends • Ability to network and partner with scientific leaders, investigators, clinical practice leaders, academic institutions, and treatment guideline members • Preferred recognition for scientific excellence through sustained clinical, academic, and/or translational/basic science contributions • Clinical therapeutic area practice and independent research/publication experience in the relevant therapeutic area preferred • Five years of prior pharmaceutical industry experience preferred • Prior experience within the geography and established therapeutic-area stakeholder relationships preferred • Demonstrable effective leadership skills preferred • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) preferred • Ability to consolidate and understand complex data sets, plan and/or execute data analyses, summarize or synthesize data, and objectively interpret results • Knowledge of national and society treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, OIG, HIPAA, and applicable ethical guidelines, laws, and regulations • Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment • Valid driving license • Willingness/ability to travel 50% • No visa sponsorship provided
