📋 Description

• Work in the Betsie Hosick Health and Fitness Center • Teach fitness center classes as requested • Perform safety procedures and report unsafe situations or equipment • Report equipment concerns to the manager and tag malfunctioning equipment out of service • Schedule customer appointments and classes • Communicate scheduled appointments to program providers • Explain procedures, exercises, classes, and equipment to center members • Answer phones and direct inquiries appropriately • Receive, distribute, and file faxed documentation • Maintain the daily cash sheet • Complete center opening and closing duties • Greet visitors and center members • Provide tours to potential and new members • Instruct and assist new members with equipment usage and basic exercise programs • Upgrade or change exercise programs requested by members

🎯 Requirements

• High school graduate • First Aid and CPR certification required • Experience in office procedures required • Well-developed communication and interpersonal relationship skills • Ability to complete clerical tasks with a high degree of accuracy • Working knowledge of medical/fitness terminology desired • Previous experience in a fitness center or public contact setting desired • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position • Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, twist, and perform other class activities • Ability to lift 30 pounds • Must be vaccinated or have lab-confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella • Must receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the hiring year and annually thereafter, or have an approved medical or religious exemption • Availability for a variable, as-needed schedule, including two Saturdays per month from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM
