📋 Description

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and their families regarding insurance coverage • Obtain and verify required patient and insurance information • Enter patient and insurance information accurately into the registration system • Identify the need for pre-authorization information • Make decisions regarding insurance eligibility using available online systems • Obtain and document pre-authorization for scheduled patients as appropriate for the procedure • Obtain pre-authorization guidelines for emergent patients and communicate them to Utilization Management • Follow up on verification issues in a timely manner • Communicate obtained information to the appropriate departments

🎯 Requirements

• 2 Year / Associate Degree or Equivalent experience • 1.5 years of related experience in healthcare • Must reside in Michigan • Must be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella • Must receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption • Ability to obtain and verify required patient and insurance information • Ability to enter information accurately into the registration system • Ability to identify the need for pre-authorization information • Ability to make insurance eligibility decisions using online systems • Ability to obtain and document pre-authorization for procedures • Ability to obtain pre-authorization guidelines and communicate information to Utilization Management
