📋 Description

• Manage a portfolio of 60–120 corporate and foundation prospects and donors • Cultivate, solicit, and steward institutional donors capable of making major gifts • Develop and implement effective multi-year donor strategies • Engage senior organizational leadership, fundraisers, conservation staff, and finance partners • Prepare written proposals, reports, and other donor updates • Conduct site visits and personalized donor visits • Coordinate the Corporate and Foundation Relations team’s pipeline process • Identify and qualify potential institutional supporters • Act independently and exercise judgment to identify and solve problems • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor, legal, and IRS requirements • Manage assigned projects, coordinate peers’ work, and set deadlines • Participate in complex or sensitive negotiations • Convey TNC’s conservation mission to varied groups • Complete 60–120 donor visits and 100–480 moves annually • Meet an annual fundraising goal of $1,000,000–$2,000,000 and goals for $100,000 solicitations

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination • Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents • Experience asking for and closing gifts of $25,000 or more • Experience managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors • Experience working with cross-functional teams • Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles and practices • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated • Ability to determine an individual’s interests, capacity, and potential for helping the Conservancy meet its goals • Ability to educate and inform prospective and existing donors about appropriate giving vehicles • Ability to implement and manage fundraising plans • Knowledge of current trends in charitable giving, including capital campaigns, major gifts, or planned giving • Experience using listening, diplomacy, and tact to build relationships and motivate donors and volunteers • Ability to negotiate high-profile or sensitive agreements • Working knowledge of charitable gift planning basics • Valid driver’s license and compliance with TNC’s Auto Safety Program • Successful completion of The Nature Conservancy’s background screening process • Ability to travel periodically and work long and flexible hours as needed
