📋 Description

• Support the design and development of custom high-temperature process equipment, including molten salt vessels, furnaces, and related thermal systems. • Help translate process needs into manufacturable mechanical designs while coordinating with electrochemical, piping, electrical, controls, procurement, fabrication, and operations teams. • Design and support high-temperature molten salt vessels, furnaces, thermal equipment, fixtures, and custom process equipment. • Develop mechanical design inputs, calculations, equipment specifications, drawings, design review packages, and fabrication support documentation. • Evaluate materials, thermal expansion, sealing, insulation, support structures, maintainability, fabrication methods, and equipment interfaces. • Coordinate mechanical design requirements with electrochemical systems, mechanical piping, electrical power, controls, instrumentation, and manufacturing teams. • Support vendor coordination, fabrication oversight, inspection, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and design change resolution. • Ensure mechanical designs support safety, quality, manufacturability, operability, maintainability, and project schedule requirements.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with high-temperature mechanical equipment, molten salt vessels, furnace design, thermal systems, or similar industrial process equipment. • Demonstrated experience with custom equipment design and fabrication, including development of practical designs that can be built, inspected, installed, and maintained. • Strong mechanical engineering knowledge related to materials, pressure/thermal effects, structural supports, equipment interfaces, and design documentation. • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary technical teams in a safety- and quality-driven engineering environment. • Experience supporting design reviews, calculations, specifications, drawings, procurement, fabrication, or field implementation activities. • Preferred Qualifications • Experience with molten salts, high-temperature corrosion considerations, refractory/insulation systems, or specialized furnace and vessel design. • Experience in DOE, NNSA, nuclear, advanced energy, chemical processing, metallurgy, or highly regulated industrial environments. • Professional Engineer registration, advanced mechanical design experience, or experience acting as a technical lead for custom equipment design is preferred.
