📋 Description

• Guide the team in developing a product platform enabling rapid creation of innovative and personalized member experiences • Advance Netflix's asset personalization systems and drive business impact • Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive environment • Mentor a diverse team of engineers, including experienced engineers and newcomers • Enhance architecture to unlock new product capabilities • Collaborate with Content Creative teams, Machine Learning researchers, Product Management, Product Design, Data Engineering, and product and client engineering teams • Build and operate high-throughput, low-latency systems delivering personalized assets in real time to Netflix UI clients • Drive the team’s roadmap by connecting its work to business needs

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience leading backend distributed systems teams • Strong technical acumen and ability to act as a technical advisor to the team • Experience building and operating distributed systems with a direct impact on the customer experience • Experience building product platforms is a bonus • Experience improving consumer experiences through partnerships with product leaders • Ability to influence product direction and roadmaps • Track record of hiring diverse, highly talented engineers and growing successful, highly impactful teams • Excellence in communicating context with the team, stakeholders, partners, and leadership • Ability to drive the team’s roadmap by connecting team work with business needs, managing expectations, and navigating competing priorities • Domain experience with personalization, AB testing, machine learning, cloud computing, and Java • Leadership style prioritizing giving and receiving feedback, fostering new ideas, and empowering others without micromanagement • A BS in Computer Science/Engineering or a related discipline
