📋 Description

• Complete approximately 20 weeks of online classroom training • Complete approximately 19 weeks of online remote hands-on internship/externship training • Participate for approximately 39–44 weeks at 40 hours per week during standard business hours • Learn and apply healthcare data and database management practices • Manage health information and electronic health record systems • Use EPIC, SQL, Tableau, and Crystal Reports to analyze and report clinical data • Understand and implement system design, testing, security, privacy, and compliance protocols • Monitor system alerts and resolve technical issues • Support staff with Epic tools, application troubleshooting, user access, workflow changes, and system updates • Review communications through email and Jira and relay system notifications to end users • Monitor and manage Epic workqueues, help requests, provider pools, and the Default Provider In Basket • Process scanning and indexing issues and train end users on redaction procedures • Update user records, system configurations, user access, fee schedules, preference lists, SmartPhrases, and SmartLists • Request destination map updates and maintain Lot Manager • Review Weekly Change Notices and update training documentation and workflows • Deliver internal training on Epic functionality and system updates • Create and modify letter templates • Assess workflows and contribute to process improvements • Run and review Open Encounter and Duplicate Patient reports • Maintain the security and integrity of health information • Prepare for the HIMSS CAHIMS certification exam

🎯 Requirements

• Applicants must be residents of California • Must be 18 years or older • Must have a high school diploma or GED certification • Must be a U.S. Citizen/National or have a valid Lawful Permanent Resident Alien; not open to non-citizens or visa holders • Proficient computer experience with MS Windows and MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) • Ability to type Net 40 wpm • Great attention to detail and strict HIPAA compliance • Analytical and detail oriented • Able to learn in a self-directed, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment • Commitment to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during standard business hours • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption prior to program acceptance • For on-site internships/externships, proof of host-site immunization requirements may be required, including influenza, hepatitis B, and MMR • Tuberculosis testing and drug screening may be required by placement sites • Prepare for the HIMSS CAHIMS certification exam

🏖️ Benefits

• Living stipend of $31,200 distributed over approximately 44 weeks • Monthly benefits reimbursement of up to $600 (participant cost only) • Internet stipend of $35/month for 44 weeks
