📋 Description

• Provide receptionist and clerical support to ensure patient flow, comfort, and satisfaction • Answer multiline phones, screen calls, and direct calls appropriately • Schedule patient appointments in the electronic medical record system • Complete patient registration, insurance verification, copayment and outstanding-balance collection, and payment plans • Obtain insurance pre-authorizations and necessary paperwork from physician offices and third parties • Update electronic or paper patient charts, obtain signatures, file paperwork, and notify clinical associates of patient arrival • Provide office and clerical support, including faxing documentation and completing disability, FMLA, attorney request, patient record release, and industrial forms • Work industrial claims in the electronic medical record system • Organize, file, scan, and track patient-chart information in the EMR • Attend staff meetings and continuing education seminars • Sort, distribute, and mail transcription • Order and stock office supplies • Keep office equipment clean and well-maintained • Provide support to staff members as assigned • Perform duties with focus on safety, quality, and efficiency as a High Reliability Organization

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required • 1–2 years of previous secretarial experience in health care or a medical office, or 1–2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience • Strong computer knowledge and skills • Experience with electronic medical record systems • Ability to perform patient registration and insurance verification • Ability to obtain insurance pre-authorizations • Ability to manage multiline phone systems and computerized call routing • Ability to accurately enter patient and insurance information • Strong organization and customer-service orientation • Good communication skills • Ability to work with medical, disability, FMLA, attorney-request, and industrial claims paperwork
