📋 Description

• Lead, develop, and scale the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Operations teams, building functional maturity in strategic negotiation, supplier management, cost modeling, risk management and cross-functional execution. • Build organizational capability by clarifying roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and cross-functional ways of working. Develop team talent through coaching, performance management and change management. • Work with leadership to establish clear KPIs and accountability mechanisms to drive performance. Support with executive communications on supply risk and sourcing strategies. • Partner with cross functional leaders in QA, Trade, Ops, Innovation, and Sustainability to align sourcing and procurement priorities with company growth, margin, operational and risk management objectives. • Work with supervisor to develop strategic plan for the department as the company scales to ensure consistent priorities between procurement and sourcing. • Own the sourcing and procurement performance agenda, including cost savings & avoidance, inflation mitigation, supplier leverage, working capital improvement, risk reduction, supply assurance, and supplier-enabled innovation. • Partner with FP&A on margin forecasting, inflation assumptions, commodity outlooks, annual operation plan, EBITDA optimization, and working capital targets. • Develop and execute category and multi-year strategies aligned to growth, margin targets, EBITDA optimization, sustainability goals, innovation priorities, and supply continuity objectives. • Build differentiated sourcing models that create competitive advantage, including direct sourcing, grower relationships, regional sourcing networks, strategic partnerships, exclusive supply arrangements, and more. • Evaluate upstream and long term supply opportunities, including grower-direct models, dedicated acreage, tolling arrangements, co-investment opportunities and make-versus-buy decisions that improve control, transparency, cost, quality and assurance. • Diversify the supply base to reduce climate, geographic, and crop risk exposure. • Maintain visibility and accountability for addressable spend across assigned direct, indirect, and operational categories, prioritizing sourcing strategies based on business impact, risk, margin opportunity, sustainability impact, and long-term strategic importance. • Partner with Sustainability to advance transparency, organic resiliency, responsible sourcing, social and environmental improvements, while protecting continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, quality, and operational flexibility. • Review and approve major supplier agreements and strategic contracts. • Ensure disciplined negotiation processes and commercial rigor across categories. • Oversee supplier segmentation, performance management and scorecards and quarterly business reviews to drive accountability and continuity of supply. • Develop and continuously improve scalable procurement processes and governance frameworks. Including: policies, workflows, effective MRP utilization, demand and supply alignment, PO accuracy, spend control, and compliance with negotiated agreements. • Oversee purchasing teams managing the full PO lifecycle execution, purchasing controls, issue resolution, service-level performance, and continuous improvement. • Ensure alignment between procurement, demand planning, and S&OP. • Track and manage key performance indicators including cost savings, cost avoidance, OTIF, inventory turns, quality performance, and supplier compliance. • Monitor inventory health, shelf-life exposure, excess and obsolete risks to mitigate waste in the supply chain. • Partner with cross-functional leadership to proactively manage supplier performance and corrective actions. • Develop sourcing & procurement plans integrated with demand planning, supply planning, innovation timelines, commercialization needs, and annual operation plan assumptions, ensuring strategies support business needs and growth. • Lead long-range planning for critical materials and suppliers, including capacity planning, supply availability, crop outlooks, supplier readiness, and risk mitigation needs. • Leverage market intelligence, commodity outlooks, sustainability data, and cost modeling to guide category strategies and business recommendations.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in Strategic Sourcing and Procurement within food or CPG. • Demonstrated experience leading and developing procurement and sourcing teams. • Direct experience with organic ingredient sourcing and agricultural supply chains preferred. • Strong commercial negotiation and supplier strategy background. • Knowledge of cross functional MRP processes with ability to interpret data and opportunities for improvement. • Experienced in change management; building or transforming procurement organizations in growth environments. • Deep understanding of food safety, regulatory, and organic certification standards. • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership. • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a mission-driven mindset. • Up to 20% travel required: Although this role is a remote work-from-home position, we “Farmers” do meet as a company and/or as a department a few times a year.
