📋 Description
• Accurately and timely code records • Abstract records using data from paper and electronic documentation • Utilize ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and CPT classification systems • Collect and analyze applicable diagnoses and procedures based on available documentation • Ensure coding complies with standards and severity-of-illness documentation
🎯 Requirements
• High school diploma required • College classes for the coding credential required • RHIA/RHIT credentials or similar education with certification from AHIMA or AAPC, or eligibility to receive certification within 6 months of hire • One of the following coding credentials: CCA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, or CPC-P • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS, and CPT • Experience preferred • New graduates of a coding program may receive training
