Onward is a healthcare-focused transportation company that provides both software and operated services to coordinate and deliver assisted rides. The company offers a transportation management SaaS platform that lets hospitals, health systems, PACE programs, senior living communities, VA healthcare, transit agencies, and health plans order, track, and manage healthcare transportation (including integration with EHRs). Onward also operates Companion Rides, a Door-Through-Door℠ assisted rideshare service with trained Companion Drivers who provide door-through-door support for patients and riders, and builds and manages networks of transportation partners to reduce clinic no-shows, speed discharges, and cut transportation coordination time.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain robust financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning • Analyze trends, KPIs, and operational data to identify opportunities and mitigate risks • Partner with department leaders to create budgets, track performance, and recommend actionable improvements • Own and manage AI workflows for end-to-end invoicing workflows, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all customer billing processes • Provide invoices and required reporting for grants and other specialty programs • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve billing issues, improve payment timelines, and maintain strong relationships with customers • Manage and optimize provider network payment processes • Drive month-end and quarter-end reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial results • Identify inefficiencies in financial workflows and propose solutions to enhance productivity and scalability • Assist leadership in preparing materials for board meetings and investor updates.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of expertise in financial analysis or FP&A • Experience managing invoicing or payments within the healthcare or transportation sectors is highly valued • You are a Power BI expert with advanced Excel modeling and SQL skills • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, AI-driven workflow automation, and complex billing and payment operations • A deep understanding of SaaS financial structures and subscription pricing • Familiarity with the unique payment nuances of PACE organizations or healthcare billing • A firm grasp of GAAP and standard reporting practices • While not mandatory, a CPA or CFA designation is preferred • Practical experience in overseeing reconciliation processes and optimizing payment workflows and billing systems • A proven ability to distill intricate data sets into strategic insights and tangible operational improvements • Excel at working across departments, partnering effectively with operations teams and external stakeholders alike • A meticulous eye for detail and accuracy • Comfortable navigating the ambiguity and speed of a rapidly evolving startup landscape.
