The organization partners with school districts to offer tutoring before, during, and after school, and also offers curriculum resources such as decodables and summer school support. OpenLiteracy focuses on evidence-aligned reading instruction and district-level implementation to improve student literacy outcomes.

📋 Description

• Monitoring daily tutoring session logins and flagging issues in real time • Responding to tutor emergencies and no-shows, including stepping in to deliver tutoring sessions as needed • Providing technical support to tutors on an as-needed basis • Completing small operations tasks during lighter hours to support the team

🎯 Requirements

• Current or expired K-6 teaching certification (must be able to provide a copy) • K-6 classroom teaching experience with a focus on reading • Strong grounding in the Science of Reading: phonics, structured literacy, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension instruction • Comfortable stepping into a tutoring session with little to no advance notice • Available Monday-Thursday during daytime hours • Able to commit to a consistent, reliable schedule of 8-20 hours per week • U.S. work authorization, U.S. mailing address, and ability to receive U.S. bank deposits • Reliable computer with camera and microphone, high-speed internet, and a quiet workspace • Strong technical troubleshooting skills (with guidance) and comfort navigating digital platforms • Experience with Tier 3 reading intervention (preferred) • Experience teaching English Learners (preferred) • Experience supporting students with reading disabilities (preferred)
