• Develop, implement, educate, and monitor clinical programs focused on Infection Control and Disease Prevention • Support facilities in complying with State and Federal Medicare and Medicaid survey regulations, licensure, and certification requirements • Assist facilities with endemic, epidemic, and pandemic disease outbreaks • Assist Administrators and Directors of Nursing with plans of correction and allegations of compliance for survey deficiencies • Monitor compliance with plans of correction submitted to State Health Departments • Oversee reportable events, review and approve documents, and assist with corrective actions • Provide training to facility administration and staff on nursing standards and survey regulations • Assist with hiring, training, and disciplinary actions for Directors of Nursing • Conduct monthly Regional DON meetings and provide clinical program training and DON development • Support clinical, MDS, dietary, social services, and regulatory policies and education • Assist DONs in determining staffing structure and nursing PPD • Visit facilities to assess and train clinical staff and create action plans • Attend regional meetings and provide clinical insight • Provide oversight and direction to the MDS department • Conduct Regional monthly MDS meetings and monitor or assist with RAC audits • Develop regional tracking and trending reports for clinical metrics and CMS 5-star ratings • Assist facilities in improving CMS 5-star ratings and managing clinical risk • Assist facility defense attorneys with lawsuits, depositions, reports, and document production • Review record requests for appropriate document release • May act as an onsite Interim DON
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent accredited nursing program degree • Active professional nursing license in good standing with the State Board of Nursing at all times • 20+ years of clinical and management experience preferred • MDS certification preferred • Legal Nurse Consultant or Risk Management experience preferred • Previous Regional or Corporate Nurse experience preferred • Experience with CMS/OIG surveys, including Jeopardy citations, preferred • PCC knowledge • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers and employees • Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds • Prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer • Willingness and ability to travel by auto or airline as required
