📋 Description

• Operate CRT, keyboard, and Voice Communication System (VCS) to simulate pilot actions and communications from remote ATC facilities during medium- and high-fidelity training exercises • Receive voice commands from students • Input proper entries into the automated system to simulate pilot actions • Translate displayed information into appropriate ATC terminology • Respond to students via VCS using proper phraseology • Complete laboratory certification and training for supported control positions

🎯 Requirements

• No aviation experience is required; aviation experience is helpful • Experience as a computer operator, RPO, air traffic control specialist, or (student) pilot is highly desirable • Aviation studies coursework, terminal radar lab or en route lab certification, or working knowledge of FAAO JO 7110.65 preferred • High school diploma or equivalent • At least one year of experience in a comparable position • Minimum keyboard speed of 40 wpm with 90% accuracy • Ability to read and interpret diagrams and manuals • Ability to speak clearly and be understood • Proficiency with MS Office Suite desirable • Basic familiarity with tablets, notebooks, applications, and other current technology a plus • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team preferred • Subject to FAA security screening • Must complete knowledge and skills tests for each supported area/sector • Must pass each knowledge test with a score of at least 70% • Must observe a previously certified RPO, FAA employee, or contractor instructor on a minimum of five simulation scenarios • Must complete on-the-job training on at least five and no more than twenty simulation scenarios on each supported control position • Must achieve simulation laboratory certification within 120 days of reporting for duty
