📋 Description

• Operate CRT, keyboard, and Voice Communication System equipment during medium- and high-fidelity training exercises • Simulate pilot actions and communications of remote ATC facilities • Receive voice commands from students • Enter proper data into the automated system to simulate pilot actions • Translate displayed information into appropriate ATC terminology • Respond to students via the Voice Communication System using proper phraseology • Observe certified RPOs, FAA employees, or contractor instructors during simulation scenarios • Complete on-the-job training on simulation scenarios for supported control positions

🎯 Requirements

• No aviation experience is required; aviation experience is helpful • Experience as a computer operator, RPO, air traffic control specialist, or (student) pilot is highly desirable • Aviation studies coursework, terminal radar lab or en route lab certification, or working knowledge of FAAO JO 7110.65 preferred • High school diploma or equivalent • At least one year of experience in a comparable position • Minimum keyboard speed of 40 wpm with 90% accuracy • Ability to read and interpret diagrams and manuals • Ability to speak clearly and be understood • Proficiency with MS Office Suite desirable • Basic familiarization with current technological tools a plus • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team preferred • Candidates subject to FAA security screening • Must complete RPO laboratory certification within 120 calendar days of reporting for duty • Must pass knowledge tests for each supported area/sector with a score of at least 70% • Must complete required observation and on-the-job training scenarios and obtain certification
